Maptinerary is a trip-planning app: you save places, build day-by-day plans, and open them in your map app of choice. This page explains, plainly, what the app does and doesn't do with your information.
Everything you build in Maptinerary — saved places, coordinates, notes, day plans, routes, and accommodation assignments — is stored locally on your device (and shared between the app and its share extension via an iOS App Group / Android app-private storage). We do not operate a server that stores your itinerary, and we cannot see it.
Exporting a trip (as a file) or sharing a place into the app are actions you take deliberately; the resulting file goes wherever you send it, under your control.
The app keeps a rolling local log of technical events (app start, errors, which optional backend features are configured) to help you troubleshoot. This log never leaves your device unless you tap "Export diagnostics" and choose to send the file somewhere yourself.
If you turn on analytics in Settings, the app sends a small, fixed set of anonymous events to our analytics endpoint:
| Sent | Never sent |
|---|---|
|
|
The event list is fixed in the app's code — it cannot send arbitrary custom properties. Raw analytics events are deleted after 13 months.
If you redeem a promo code, the app registers your anonymous device ID with our access service so it can grant the corresponding entitlement. This exchange contains the code and the anonymous ID — no personal information.
When you open a place or route, Maptinerary hands off to a map app you choose — Naver Map, KakaoMap, Google Maps, or Waze — by launching that app (or its website as a fallback) with the destination you selected. That handoff is a normal app link; Maptinerary does not send your data to those providers beyond the destination you asked to open, and each app's own privacy policy governs what happens once it opens.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
